How Fast is French

HOW FAST IS FRENCH?

Wednesday, May 23, 2012 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. With Rania

The French are known for their exquisite taste and their incredible cuisine.  In fact, I still dream and rave about my pate at Benoit located at 20 Rue Saint-Martin in Paris and that meal took place back in 1995! I go to France only to eat. This is a fact that I’m not exactly proud of, but it is what it is. My very first cookbook was Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking.  The recipes were three and four pages long, and it took about three or four days to make them.  Now, Julia Child is, indeed, my hero; however, I don’t have that kind of time, and I know that you folks don’t either!  Out of respect to Julia and out of respect for what I know you want to eat and learn, this class is dedicated to all you of Francofiles like me!  We’ll start the class off by sipping white wine and feasting on Boursin Cheese and Portobello Napoleons. Pan Seared Chicken Breasts with Leeks and Cream will be paired with Potato and Cheese Gratin. Asparagus with Warm Tomato Vinaigrette is an old stand-by favorite with a new twist. Lemon Raspberry Crepes will end the evening in style with a lovely glass of the bubbly!  Vive la France!
